Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts don't mind being outlaw at all

Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts have been on tour for 12 days now, and tonight, they arrive in Eugene, OR to play Old Nick's Pub.

Jackie Varriano at The Register-Guard was kind enough to do a feature in support of tonight's performance to explain exactly what Denver Westword's "Best Country Band" has in store for music fans.

"There’s hardly a more contentious subject than genre when talking to musicians. Some say it’s a necessary evil from the days when radio needed a definition in order to know what to play; others liken it to giving yourself a nickname, and some bands attempt to eschew definition at all.

Denver-based band Ryan Chrys & the Rough Cuts have decided to own a genre — but it wasn’t without a few reservations. The genre in question is called modern outlaw country and right now the Rough Cuts are so passionate about it, it’s the name of their next album as well as the first single on it."
